The database searches for all words starting with the character strings entered (except for the date and number fields).
- Words are automatically ANDed together

- Use the Full Record field for full text searching.
Use the indexing fields for more precise searching (but read below about their limitations).
- Example
- entry of "retrovir vector" in the Full Record field will retrieve records containing words starting with "retrovir" (e.g., "retroviruses" and "retroviral") AND words starting with "vector" (e.g., "vectors").
- Antiviral Agents Bulletin database records are displayed most recent first. BIOPHARMA product records are displayed most recent approvals first.
- Spaces and punctuation delimit searchable words.
- The hyphen (-) is not a delimitter. For example "interleukin-1" will retrieve records with "interleukin-1" and "interleukin-12".
